This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I've seen a lot of people do this improvement meme: [link] by lately. I know it's mostly done by people who draw, but I've seen photographers do it, too. I've only been taking pictures since 2007, so I don't think it'd make sense for me to do this meme, but it got me thinking about my own improvement.
When I look at the pictures I submitted in 2007, I really see a big difference to now. What helped me take a big step forward was my DSLR I bought in summer 2008. So far, I've taken 12,000+ pictures with it, which was really a good practice. However, since about one year; even if I get a bit better with every picture I take, it's not as big as a change than from 2007 to 2008 for example.
So I've been wondering what could help me improve my photography...
Equipment
I'm using a Canon EOS 400D and the kit-lens that came with it. (Also a tripod and a UV-Filter.) I wish I could get another lens, but they're way out of my price range. I'm thinking about getting a lens shade and a remote release (to help with taking pictures of myself), though.
Practice, practice, practice
I have to take more pictures. Simple as that. I just don't go out and take pictures enough...
Models
I think about working more with models instead of using myself in pictures. It's just easier, since it can be tiring to have to work with a tripod and self-timer every time... I'm not thinking about paid models though, since photography is a hobby of mine and not a job, so I don't really have any money to spare for that... I'll ask some of my friends if they want to model for me. ♥ So yeah, this blog entry is more meant to remind myself of my goal to become a better photographer... We'll see how it turns out.
